Artist comments

Blade in Crimson is a series of works about what Chinese female suffers in a patriarchal society.
Red color runs through the four works in order to point out the problem, also the sword that pierces to women.
It talks about menstrual stigma, male gaze, and workplace inequality.

An exquisite piece.

I find it very important when the artist's experiences are the triggers of his artistic expressions. These works are not only simply beautiful, but also communicate to a high conceptual level.
Although it is evident that Yinko has a high command of the drawing language, she preferred not to rely only on drawing solely and rather included robust design principles.
There is strong personality in the use of color, composition and framing, it is simply a wonderful work. The art process gives the artist the chance to overcome the constraints of his preferred medium but also gives the chance to play around with his very own and beautiful human constraints.
AI deprived us from this. Stay strong.

Jose Sanchez

The intense color red, black, and whites throughout the work are really impressive.
The theme of the painting also well expressed the problems that women can face in modern society in the collection of illustration.

Eunbi Kang

This work depicts patriarchal society in China, and I feel that it has something in common with social issues in Japan where gender inequality is addressed.
I think the work is a solid artistic expression of women's struggles and the issues it raises.
