Artist comments

This series was painted when I first came to live in Japan.
The abnormality and the sense of dissonance I felt in my daily life and the fact that I am a foreigner in this country are particularly significant.
Now I have accepted the fact that I am a foreigner very well, and I like this country very much.

 審査員評

Strong and balanced compositions. Special color palette.

Sigal Caspin Segal

An interesting artwork that precisely conveys the artist's intended message.

Yidong Cai

I really feel very identified with the theme. The psychological tension in this piece is excellent. Narrow spaces contrasting with empty spaces produces a very nice effect.
The art process gives the artist the chance to overcome the constraints of his preferred medium but also gives the chance to play around with his very own and beautiful human constraints.
AI deprived us from this. Stay strong.

Jose Sanchez

The way the artist conveys their life and message through illustration is unique.
The composition of the scene from the various shapes is also really impressive.
In particular, it is interesting that the artist boldly expressed the daily life as a foreigner through illustrations.

Eunbi Kang

It was an interesting work from the perspective of Japan as seen from abroad.
It has elements of caricature and could be used as a poster.
The use of colors reminiscent of Japan's Showa-era retro style is also tasteful, and seems to express the artist's feeling that he has come to love Japan.
